I am an illustrator!
It’s been a while since my last post. I haven’t blogged in a while because I got tired of producing “bullshit” posts, and I decided one morning that I’m just not going to do it anymore.
I was attempting to blog everyday which was totally exhausting! I’d come home after working a full shift at my day job, feeling so glad that my day was finally over and think, “Oh shit! I haven’t blogged yet today!” Then I’d skim through my RSS feeds, find something that peaked my interest and post about it. You see what I mean by “bullshit”? My previous posts are not entirely inauthentic or lacking in usefulness, but I wasn’t blogging because I wanted to blog. I was blogging because I felt that I had to.
Then this morning I woke up and remembered something: I am an illustrator (who occasionally codes), not a blogger! Why am I wasting so much time basically curating links, instead of actually drawing?
Today marks six days since my last blog post (which was coincidentally, about a drawing that I did). In the past six days I’ve spent more time drawing than I usually do. I put up another item in my Etsy shop, and I’ve begun working on a few textile-based items for my shop as well. All in all, my time has been used more efficiently and I’m much happier about it.
Sorry for all the bullshit. Much more authenticity to come! 🙂
